It is incredibly brave to start the process of recovery. Whether you identify as having an eating disorder, disordered eating, or just know that your relationship with food and movement is not what you want, you deserve support. I have been focused on treating individuals with eating disorders for more than 10 years, including publishing my dissertation research on eating disorder prevention.
I work with adults and teenagers with eating disorders and disordered eating, as well as their family members and support system. Since eating disorders rarely present as a standalone problem, I also well-versed in treating mood disorders, anxiety, OCD, and trauma.
My training is grounded in evidence-based cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) approaches. While the foundation of my work is in the structure and skill-building of CBT, I individually tailor the structure of therapy to your needs and the challenges of your daily life. When applicable, I work to incorporate the practices of intuitive eating and the principles of Health at Every Size (HAES) into treatment.
Recovery involves a process of unlearning diet culture rules and learning how to be comfortable and attuned to our body's cues once again. My work involves blending education and your own intuition into what your needs. The goal is to find a path towards a more flexible relationship with food, exercise, and your body! Every recovery journey is unique, and my approach to your treatment will be individualized to your needs.
My goal as a therapist is to provide you with both support and skills, and to welcome clients of all bodies, neurodiversities, and identities into treatment.
My approach is warm and collaborative- I want to integrate your expertise on your own experience (and what does and does not work for you) into an evidence-based treatment approach.
I know that is not easy to make changes to the way you cope, or how you show up in relationships. If you have a difficult relationship with food or exercise, you are not alone in this journey. Please reach out for support, and know that recovery is always possible!
If you have any questions about whether or how therapy can be helpful for you or your loved one, please reach out to me.
